St. Paddy's Day and a Wee Freebie

Happy St. Paddy's Day! Well almost. I just checked the date of my last blog post. Twas a while ago. Please forgive me, I know not what I do. I love St. Patrick's Day! I spend the whole day saying - Top of the Morning to ya, I wear green, I think about Ireland, and most importantly, I trick my kids. A few years back, another teacher and I made leprechaun footprint cut-outs and we spent countless hours after school, patiently painting these green prints all over the classroom. The first day that I did it, I came in the next morning only to discover that the janitor had mopped everything up. Bless his heart, that's how good he is. Well, as Mrs Tweezers tells Owen's mother - I filled him in. After that, the leprechaun kept showing up time and time again.

Thats the great thing about the younger grades, it brings out the kid in all of us. People often ask me - wouldn't you like to teach a higher level? While every level has its benefits, I just love the enthusiasm of first grade plus they are super gullible. Clearly.

Til next time
